I'm replacing an old spa. Will you remove it?

Spa Removal & Disposal

An old spa can usually be taken out on a dolly and trailer, the same way the new one is installed.  If your old spa is not able to be removed via a dolly due to deterioration (falling apart), then it will be necessary to dismantle and remove in pieces.  The removal fee typically ranges from $300-$500 and includes the land-fill disposal fee.

How do you deliver & install the Shore Spa?

Delivery & Installation

DELIVERY: We offer delivery and installation of our Outer Banks spa from mainland Currituck to Corolla (non-4wheel drive area) thru Dare County (Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manteo, and northern Hatteras Island's tri-villages).  If your home is outside of our service area, please contact us with your address and we will try our best to accommodate.

INSTALLATION: We have all the tools needed to get your new spa in place safely and without damage.  An assessment of your home and installation area may be required if there are any obstacles that would make delivery challenging.  Our spa dolly will fit thru most typically sized pool gates and other fencing. If we need to remove any latches etc, they will be reinstalled when delivery is complete.  A flat and level service is required. Electrical hook-up is not included.

What are the installation requirements?

Electrical Requirements

The 240 Volt Shore Spa features two pumps which require a 50 AMP, dedicated GFCI protected circuit breaker with proper wire for length of run. The circuit must have two hot wires, a neutral wire and an isolated ground wire. Consult with a certified electrician for wire size or additional requirements.

Surface Requirements

Since the spa weight needs to be supported uniformly, it must be placed on a firm, flat and level surface. A 3-1/2” thick concrete slab is recommended. Wood decking or balconies must be constructed to support 150 pounds per square foot (or to current code).  After supported on the base, the spa will be checked with a level and shimmed as necessary.

*Replacing an existing spa: Most hot tubs have similar size, weight and voltage requirements. Therefore, when replacing an old hot tub with a Shore Spa, it is typically possible to use the existing wiring and surface base.

How do I operate the topside control?

Operating Your Spa

The easy to use Gecko 4-button topside control includes:

  • Pump 1
  • Pump 2
  • Temp Up/Down
  • Light

The spa includes two high power dual-speed pumps which are operated by the Pump 1 & Pump 2 buttons, giving varying levels of therapeutic jet action when combined with  turning the jet rings to open/close.

How do I care for my hot tub?

Caring for your spa

Because poor water quality can cause damage to the spa's equipment, we recommend having a qualified pool and spa service provider care for your new spa. However, properly caring for a Shore Spa can be achievable if you read through the Owner's Manual and follow the water chemistry requirements.

Your usage will determine how often the filter needs to be cleaned and how often you should drain and refill with fresh water For typical usage, the filter cartridge should be rinsed by hose once a week and cleaned with a cartridge cleaner once a month.  Read about filter maintenance >

One of the benefits of The Shore Spa is that it uses a very common open-ended cartridge filter, from 25-50 sq ft.  You can easily find and replace with your preferred brand.  We recommend a 50 sq ft filter in a  heavily used spa (examples: Unicel C-4950, Pleatco PRB50-IN, or Filbur FC2390). These brand name filters, as well as generic versions, can be found online and at your local pool or home goods store.

What happens if a repair is needed?

Repairs & Warranty

Replacement parts are kept in stock so warranty repairs can be made as quickly as possible.  After warranty - no problem! The Shore Spa uses non-propriety parts that can be purchased/repaired by any skilled spa maintenance tech.

What accessories do you recommend?

Safety Accessories:

Spa Steps:

• Allow easy entry into your spa.

• Weatherproof and UV resistant.

• Extremely durable and able to hold 300 pounds.

Cover Lift: Make it easy for anyone to take off and put back the cover and are ideal for both older and single spa users.

• Requires minimal cover handling. Conveniently lifts and stores the cover.
• Helps the cover to last longer.

Storm Strap:

We recommend a durable storm strap and stainless steel eyebolts (instead of using the vinyl attached straps - which often causes sleeve tearing due to guests or high winds).
